      <title>Summer Camp Counselor &amp; School Year Youth Coach - ÜG Castle Rock (Summer 2025 Seasonal)</title>
      <description><![CDATA[<p>Join Übergrippen Indoor Climbing Crag as a part-time hourly team member. Übergrippen is an indoor rock climbing facility with locations in the Colorado Front Range (Castle Rock and NE Denver). Share your love of climbing by joining our team!&nbsp; This position will be 100% at Übergrippen Castle Rock.<br><b><br>The Team Member position is for people that are excited about rock climbing and have a strong desire to share their love with kids by being a counselor at CampGrippen! </b>Our CampGrippen counselor's role is to maximize the camper's experience everyday, making their summer vacation a special, fun, and memorable time! Summer counselors may also do additional work on our guest experience team, where you will interact with our regular member and guests while playing a key role in enhancing's each guests visits as well as helping to maintain our crag!</p><p><b>Job Duties</b><br></p><ol><li><b>"The World Stops"</b>: Make positive customer engagement your #1 goal daily</li><li>Supervising Campers throughout the day<ul><li>Lead groups of 6 to 8 kids through a specified camp curriculum under the supervision of the Camp Director</li><li>Create a fun and active environment for every camper so that they are excited to come back the next day!</li><li>Provide incident response to accidents and injuries as required</li><li>Encourage campers to try their best</li><li>Give Lots of High Fives</li><li>Make the kids your priority and focus.</li><li>Make the entirety of each and every camper's days at CampGrippen awesome!</li><li>Prepare for camp with setting up</li><li>Cleaning up and breaking down camp equipment</li></ul></li><li>Guest Experience Team roles:<ul><li>Guest activities and provide incident/emergency response if ever needed.</li><li>Providing facility orientations and certifications to new guests (including belay and lead climbing tests)</li><li>Engaging with customers throughout shift to create a positive community</li><li>Front desk (guest check-in, membership and day pass sales, retail sales, answering questions by phone, email, and face to face)</li><li>Teaching climbing classes for both adults and youth</li><li>Facility housekeeping</li><li>Event staff (belaying, leading games/activities, and monitoring/supervision event).&nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul></li></ol><p><b>Job requirements<br></b></p><ol><li><span><span>Minimum 16 years old. There are very limited opportunities for applicants that are 15 years old and only generally offered only to applicants with extensive ÜG Climbing background (e.g. 2+ years participation&nbsp;in ÜG clubs and or teams) that have demonstrated maturity, responsibility, and a strong work ethic.</span></span></li><li><span>Previous climbing experience (1+ years preferred) and ability to pass a top rope belay certification.</span></li><li>Ability to climb at a 5.9 or higher level.</li><li><span>Ability to stand for duration of shifts (8 hours).</span></li><li><span>Ability to wear a climbing harness and perform&nbsp;top rope belay for others for 2 hours without a break.</span></li><li><span>Applicants must work weekday (8am to 5pm) during the summer and must be available to work a MINIMUM of 4 full weeks through the summer (counselors are scheduled for a full 40 hours work week on weeks that they are scheduled for)</span></li><li><span><b>Applicants must be available for our CampGrippen training days on May 17, 2024 and May 18, 2024. Our Youth Climbing coaches bring their excitement for climbing to the younger generation of developing climbers.
